Vovousa Diptychs

 

The river hollows out the rocks. Listen to the roots, how they absorb the water. Down the mountain it flows. Shall we go with the flow? Look at those creatures inside the river. The reeds embrace tightly. And the rocks are constantly whispering. What are they trying to say? It’s frozen. First it leaves some traces and then it goes away. The frog is jumping. I know nothing about rivers. It disappears behind those trees. Shall we go fishing? It’s windy. Last night I saw the boatman. The river hollows out the rocks, can you grasp it? Just Listen…

Ένα χρόνο πριν, στις 28/29 Ιουνίου 2011 βίαιες ταραχές ενάντια στην ψήφιση του μνημονίου συγκλονίζουν το κέντρο της Αθήνας. Την ώρα που αστυνομικές δυνάμεις καταστέλλουν χιλιάδες συγκεντρωμένους διαδηλωτές που διαμαρτύρονται στους δρόμους, μέσα στο Κοινοβούλιο ψηφίζονται τα μέτρα λιτότητας της Τρόικα.

A year ealrier, on 28/29 June 2011, violent riots against the memorandum burst in the centre of Athens. While police forces was repressing the thousand of demontrators in the streets, the Parliament was approving the austerity measures imposed by TROIKA.

Un año antes, los días 28/29 de junio de 2012, disturbios violentos contra el memorandum estallan en el centro de Atenas. Mientras que las fuerzas policiales reprimen el pueblo griego en las calles, el Parlamento aprueba las medidas de austeridad impuestas por la TROIKA.
